Fraction Games Where Kids Cut the Pie Themselves

Fraction Bakery is a busy corner bakery with fourteen quick mini games. Kids slice pies, frost cakes and deliver orders, and every move is a fraction.

One fraction, many ways to see it

Kids who only ever see pies get stuck the first time a fraction shows up on a ruler. Every fraction here shows up as a pie, a cake, a tray of cookies, a number line, a symbol and spoken words.

How it works

  1. Play a round. A few mini games and a prize round. Every swipe, hold and tap is a fraction decision, and every order is read aloud.
  2. The game finds their level. It starts with one half, climbs through naming and equivalent fractions, and moves on to comparing and adding only when a player is ready.
  3. Mistakes are the lesson. Wrong answers are built from the real mix-ups, like adding the bottoms or thinking 1/8 beats 1/4, so kids catch themselves making them.
  4. Go deeper. Each fraction has its own page, and there are free printable worksheets with answer keys.
